Team Against Unjust Killings By Cops

About Us

Team Against Unjust Killings By Cops is an non-governmental organization that is trying to reach out to people about the matter of unjust killings of Black lives. Designed by a group of teenagers, the organization hopes to be able to pull in youth onto the site with it's teen-friendly environment. In order to speak to the people that aren't well-informed about this issue, not only will the organization bring facts, but will also rely on using emotions to relay messages. After learning about the movement, the organization makes it simple for viewers to learn more about how they can contribute to the cause, without being an African American. Help save Black lives!

Tina Yu
Tina Yu is a 15 year old Chinese female. Tina's passion towards the Black Lives Movement started in late 2014. She was never really exposed to racism or prejudice because she grew up in an environment where she was never the odd one out. Her friends were always Asian and there were barely any other racial groups at her elementary and middle schools. Finally in 2014, she entered Oakland Technical High School and became exposed to many different racial groups. Oakland Technical High School was far away from her middle school so none of her friends were with her, forcing her to make new friends. Her first friend quickly became her best friend. Her friend was a Black female that had a lot of passion towards the Black Lives Matter movement. Quickly, Tina and her friend joined clubs and unions about social justice! When hanging out with her friend, she noticed how different it was from hanging out with her Chinese friends. People judged her for always hanging out alone with a Black girl. Astonished by what she learned, she decided to devote much of her time fighting for a movement that shouldn't even have to exist!

Due to these fundamental values, of knowing that she must do something to contribute to change, Cymone's understanding of the movement to end police brutality and to fight for justice for its victims is a personal fight that she feel extremely passionate about. Helping to build this website, with her classmates, is her first contribution towards the movement.

Itzell Quezada
Itzell Quezada is a Mexican American that is 16 years old. Police brutality against Black people has become an important movement that Itzell has became a clear activist of. Since she was little, she can remember hearing stories of the awful cases that would happen to many African American. The reality of it never really hit her until these recent years. She believes that it has became more real to her partly because she is older and more mature, and partly because the violence from police towards black people has been increasing. It is ridiculous that it is 2016 and Black people are still not being treated as equals, especially by law officials such as police, people that Americans are supposed to trust.
