Earth’s average surface temperature has risen
~1.92 degrees Fahrenheit/0.9 degrees Celsius
since the late 19th century, because of increased
carbon dioxide and other man made emissions into
the atmosphere.

Oceans have absorbed much of the increased heat,
with the top 700 meters showing a warming of 0.302
degrees Fahrenheit since 1969.

Greenland has lost 281 billion tons of ice per year
from 1993 and 2016 and Antarctica lost 119 billion
tons in the same time period.

Global sea level rose about 8 inches in the last
century. The rate in the last two decades was almost
double the last century.

The amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by the upper
layer of the oceans is increasing by 2 billion tons
per year.
